Read the Manual
Some of the steps from this point onwards require you to locate various connectors and headers on the motherboard.
Read the Manual
Its at this point that we're going to let you in on a little known computer technician secret - Its easier to connect things right if you read the manual!

All motherboards come with an install guide or manual, most printed but sometimes on a CD and this will include diagrams of the mainboard showing the important connectors and how they are oriented. Even the most experienced Tech will rather spend a minute and read the manual than an hour getting things right. Now is the time to find your manual and flip to the page which shows how things are connected.

Connect the front panel USB and Audio connectors.
Connect the front panel USB header and Front panel audio connector. These are usually connector blocks that can only go on one particular way. See your install guide for their location.
Not just a jumble of wires.
The reset switch, power LED, power switch and hard disk drive LED can appear to be a confusing mass of wires.

The manual will show the correct way to wire the front panel.
But the correct page of your manual will show you exactly where each one should be connected.
Reset switch, Power switch, hard drive LED and Power LED ready to go.
And you'll find that it will take just a moment to hook them all up correctly.
