How to Configure Outlook Express on Windows XP

You will then be asked for your email address. Your email address should be typed in exactly as your ISP or server administrator has specified. If you make a mistake you will still be able to send mail but anyone trying to reply to your email may find it undeliverable or it may be delivered to the wrong person instead. Click next once you have typed in your email address. Type your Email Address

On the email servers set up page select the correct type of incoming mailserver, either pop3 or IMAP. Type the incoming mailserver in to the incoming mailserver field and the outgoing mailserver into the outgoing mailserver field. Once again these details should be typed in exactly as provided to you or they simply will not work. Once you have filled in the mail server details in click next. Type In Your Mailserver Addresses

The final details you will be asked for are your Account name and Password. The account name is usually but not always the first part of your email address, Outlook Express will assume this and fill it in for you. Your password is whatever you chose or was assigned to you and is hopefully at least 6 charactors long and a mixture of numbers and letters, though this also may not be the case. Once again these details must be filled in correctly and as provided to you or things will not work. Then click next. Type In Your Password

You should now be presented with a screen congratulating you for making it this far, click finish on the bottom of this screen and your computer will set your email account up using the details you have provided. Congratulations

Finally, click close on the bottom of Internet Accounts to return to Outlook Express. Your email account should be ready to use. Click Finish
